Starting with the Basics

Updated: Nov 17, 2021

Do you have a wardrobe full of clothes, and I mean FULL of clothes, yet you can't pull an outfit together in a hurry? There might be a few issues going on here, could be that you need to cleanse the wardrobe so you can see the beautiful outfits through the opp shop worthy and bad purchase collection that has mounted up over the years. Could be that it's too overwhelming and time consuming to pull things out, so you just wear the same thing. Could be that you love to buy all the new trends and stand out pieces, yet you don't have anything to pull the outfit together. Say for example you loved that floral blazer and you just had to have that mustard/patterned skirt as they looked so good in the shop. You get home to try them on and no, doesn't work as an outfit, your ripped blue jeans don't suit the smart casual blazer and the mustard skirt is so out there you can't find a top to go with it.

This is where the "basics" are essential to every wardrobe.

Once you collect you basic pieces, every new purchase you make will be able to be styled into an outfit quickly. I promise you, once you have the basics, it will save time, will provide you with a foundation wardrobe for everyday and ensure you can rotate the clothes in your wardrobe. No need for items to sit there with the tags on, waiting for their time to shine.

It's a good idea to spend more of your budget on the basic/foundation pieces as these are the ones you will wear the most.

If you subscribe on the website, you will receive a wardrobe basics checklist. This is a clear guideline of pieces that will be your foundation. Many of you will already have some of these, but the list will indicate what's missing.

If you choose to purchase a styling session I will provide you of a more tailored list that is specific to your body type. So instead of black jeans on the list, if you are an hourglass shape, it will say high waisted bootleg jeans (for example).
